THE PRODUCT
The mini3LV Large Vehicle Reverse Aid is a high-tech systems for assisting drivers while they are backing their vehicle. The system digitally display the distance between the nearest obstacle behind your vehicle to within an accuracy of +/- 2 inches. In addition, prominent LED signals warn drivers to specific hazards. The system also have a three zone audio warning indicator that increases in pulse intensity as your vehicle gets closer to the obstacle.
The mini3LV Large Vehicle Reversing Aid consist of three acoustic detectors, a compact IC-based electronic control monitor and an LED display unit. During operation, ultrasonic signals are generated and detected by the monitoring unit that is controlled by an 8-bit microprocessor. The processor computes the signal-to-object distance between the ultrasonic echo source and the sensors. The computed distance is then outputted to the LED display unit in feet and inches.
MINIATURE ACOUSTIC TRANSMITTER/RECEIVER
The mini 3 series
Reversing Aids miniature acoustic
sensors transmit a uniquely modified "narrow beam" signal. This narrow beam
signal is capable of seeing through fog, rain, smog and snow, any weather, day or night,
on any road condition. When this signal strikes a solid target "directly" in the
path of the host vehicle, it bounces back to the antenna/receiver and is instantly sent to
the signal microprocessor. The acoustic sensors have a detection range of up to 8 feet.
The slim and thin design of sensors with transparent film leads, coupled with color
matching decorative sensor lens ensures out-of-sight installation of the
sensors on your vehicle..
The 8-bit microprocessor programmed with Intelligent Control
Software incorporating fuzzy logic processes the target signal to
calculate distance or range, as well as the closing speed between the host vehicle and the
obstacles in the path of the host vehicle. The processor automatically and continuously
computes this information. If the processor determines that the existing conditions
require the driver to take any precautionary or corrective action, it sends a specific
signal to the LED display monitor.
The LED display unit, generally mounted on the vehicles rear
view mirror, in the direct view of the driver, receive signals from the microprocessor and
displays a 3-digit numerical read-out which is synchronized with the motion of your
vehicle from 8 feet to the nearest distance of obstacles behind your vehicle. A three zone
audio warning signal of modulating pulse intensity will sound along with the numeric
display. As the host vehicle gets closer to the obstacle, the numeric display will count
down the distance and the audio warning will increase in pulse intensity indicating a
collision is imminent and evasive action is required immediately. A "Hit" will
display on the LED readout if the distance between your car and the obstacle is less than
8 inches. Other Prominent warning signals that can be displayed during operations are:
"InF" Strong external interference. (Outside signals are interfering with
the sensor signals.) "StP" Detected obstacle falls into non-detecting
zone like blind spots. The blind spots behind your vehicles can be minimized with
additional sensors. (see the installation manual for more details)
The mini 3 series Reversing Aid is designed for easy installation. An experienced installer will be able to install the system into any vehicle in about 90 minutes. No drilling is required. Most of the necessary parts and components for the installation are included in the system package. The mini3P Car Reversing Aid is designed for installation on most types of passenger vehicles. The mini3LV Large Vehicle Reversing Aid is designed for larger vehicles like minivans, SUV, RV and others.
| Step 1: Install LED display in passenger compartment. e.g. Underneath the rearview mirror | Step 2: Install the Sensors. e.g. Install on rear lights lens. | Step 3: Wire the power unit to the reverse light lamp wire. |
